Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist to deliver specialized hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder rehabilitation. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized plans, fabricate custom splints, and guide OT staff and students in a collaborative clinical setting.

The role emphasizes orthopedic post-surgical rehab, scar management, edema control, and return-to-work goals, requiring a strong background in upper-extremity anatomy and clinical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program is required/expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT staff and students.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative cases; provide scar management and edema control.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals; participate in care planning and case discussions.
