Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced structural analyst to join the New Glenn Component Test team. You will perform strength assessments using classical methods and FEA for ground support equipment, create free-body diagrams, and release engineering documentation.

This 12‑month fixed term role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration in a multi‑discipline environment. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of GSE or tooling analysis experience, proficiency with Ansys/NX/Nastran, and the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 5–8 years of experience in GSE or tooling analysis.
• Experience with FEMs using Ansys or NX Simulation with Nastran.
• Proficiency in free-body diagrams to compute loads and reactions.
• Experience with 1D/2D/3D FEMs including weldments and machined parts.
• Proficiency in bolted and welded joint hand calculations.
• Experience in modal analysis for vibration fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Perform strength assessments using classical analysis and FEA for tooling and GSE.
• Document and review stress analyses to enable release of drawings and docs.
• Mentor tooling designers on stress, stability, and fracture analysis.
• Provide technical guidance on design concepts, risks, costs, and performance trade‑offs.
• Support cross‑functional teams with design development, analysis and trade studies.
• Lead conceptual and detailed analysis of tooling/equipment for manufacture and assembly of components.
• Serve as technical contact for vendor‑developed tooling projects.
