Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled engineer to join the Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) team in Los Angeles. You will integrate mechanical and electrical systems, set up vacuum and thermal test hardware, and ensure safety throughout high-energy operations.

Bring 5–8 years of design and build experience, strong CAD/Windchill capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to improve manufacturability and test efficiency across the workflow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 5–8 years of experience developing models/assemblies and drawings.
• Experience designing vibration fixtures and performing modal analysis.
• Fixture design for high pressure and wide temperature ranges.
• Experience with GSE, fixtures, tooling and/or structures.
• Proficient in Creo Parametric/ProE and Windchill.
• Experience creating assembly and installation models and drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with drawing release and lifecycle processes.
• Ability to lead and coordinate across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical integration of components and test articles.
• Set up, operate, and maintain vacuum systems and related hardware.
• Work with high-voltage systems and safety interlocks.
• Set up furnaces and thermal processing equipment for testing.
• Build and modify experimental assemblies and provide feedback to design.
• Install instrumentation and route cabling to meet cleanliness requirements.
• Support test execution, monitoring, and post-test teardown.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and test procedures.
• Maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Mentor junior technicians and collaborate with team.
