Job summary

Amentum Ground Support Equipment Mechanic role requires diagnosing malfunctions, repairing GSE, and training junior staff. You will inspect and approve maintenance actions, study drawings and schematics, and maintain equipment records using automated systems.

The position emphasizes safety, environmental compliance, and accurate documentation. Applicants should have 4+ years on GSE, a valid license, and the ability to obtain required clearances.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience on GSE or equivalent equipment.
• Familiar with FRC rework procedures, publications and schematics.
• Diesel and electrical mechanic experience.
• Experience using special tools/equipment required for tasks.
• Read, understand and implement safety, quality and environmental requirements of plans and procedures.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Must obtain Navy Local Population ID Card/Base Access Pass.
• Must obtain Secret Security Clearance.
• English language proficiency.
• U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs GSE; trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex problems.
• Inspects and approves completed maintenance actions; maintains equipment records and uses maintenance data systems.
• Analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs GSE using digital/test equipment and schematics; repairs with hand tools.
• Disassembles/assembles GSE components; handles hazardous materials per regulations.
• Prepares GSE for storage and deployment; operates towing vehicles as needed.
• Provides dispatch service for GSE and maintains paper and electronic records.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
