Commonwealth Science & Technology, Inc. is seeking a high-energy Senior Business Development Manager to expand our science, IT and engineering client base in the Boston area.

The role focuses on developing new business in Science, IT, Engineering, and DOD sectors, with a preference for local candidates in Norwood, MA who can work 1–2 days in-office or hybrid. The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years in agency staffing, a proven track record of client development, and the ability to operate

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of direct experience in agency staffing within Life Sciences, IT or Engineering.
• Experience with large pharma, medical device, IT or DOD preferred.
• Proven track record of client development and profitability.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confident, outgoing, and proactive personality.
• Strong sense of urgency and disciplined work ethic.
• Committed to a long-term career in staffing.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development through cold calling, email outreach, social selling, lead generation, networking and relationship-building.
• Identify, develop, and convert new client opportunities while maintaining a strong pipeline.
• Leverage multiple channels (phone, email, LinkedIn, events, referrals) to generate leads and expand market presence.
• Adopt a flexible, multi-role mindset balancing sales, account management, client service and recruiting on a small team.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to pivot, manage priorities and adapt to changing demands.
• Be self-motivated, resourceful and results-oriented with accountability.
• Operate in an ethical and entrepreneurial atmosphere; creativity and independence are encouraged.
