Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Group Underwriter Consultant Senior to determine acceptability of insurance risks and set premium rates for large, complex group cases. This senior technical underwriter will lead pricing, renewal strategies, and cross-functional collaboration with sales, actuarial, finance, and other partners.

The role requires a BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of seven years of experience, with hybrid in-office requirements 1–2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS in a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Develops pricing and renewal strategies based on risk factors.
• Monitors underwriting workflow and internal controls.
• Collaborates with Sales, Actuarial, Finance on pricing and renewals.
• Provides guidance on underwriting exceptions.
• Calculates renewal rates for large complex cases.
• Mentors underwriting associates.
