Job summary

Elevance Health is seeking a Group Underwriter Consultant Senior to determine acceptability of insurance risks and set premium rates for large and complex group cases, including Fully Insured, Level Funded, and ASO funding.

The role leads rate development, coordinates with other departments, mentors underwriting staff, and drives process improvements in a hybrid in-office/remote environment. A BA/BS plus 7+ years of related underwriting experience is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum 7 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Responsibilities

• Propose rates for prospective business utilizing incumbent experience, demographic/census data and manual rates.
• Own all underwriting pieces of the RFP for larger, more complex new business opportunities, including rate/fee development and templates.
• Drive escalation within authority; perform post-sale reviews and management reporting; coordinate with departments for accurate account reporting.
