Elevance Health in the United States seeks a Group Underwriter Consultant Senior to determine acceptability of insurance risks and set premium rates for large, complex group cases.

As the most senior underwriting expert, you will lead rate development for RFPs, mentor team members, and collaborate across sales, actuarial, and product teams. This role supports a hybrid in-office/work-from-home model and rewards experience with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BS in a related field and 7+ years of related experience.
• Experience determining acceptability of insurance risks and rates for large/group cases.
• Familiar with Fully Insured, Level Funded, and ASO funding arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Propose rates for prospective business using data and rate development.
• Own underwriting pieces of the RFP for large opportunities.
• Drive escalations within authority.
• Perform post-sale reviews and management reporting.
• Coordinate with other departments for accurate account reporting.
• Assist in rating and admin procedures.
• Mentor underwriting associates and guide improvements.
