Job summary

Nelnet’s NextGen portfolio seeks a hands-on Group Product Manager to OWN end-to-end product work and lead a small PM team. You’ll shape strategy, collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and client support, and push for AI-driven improvements that reduce manual work for campus staff and students.

You will partner across functions to land releases with measurable business outcomes, maintain a strategic roadmap, and stay aligned with higher ed policy, security, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• Advanced degree preferred with emphasis on strategy, technology, or leadership.
• 6+ years of product management experience with strong shipping track record.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more NextGen solutions end to end—discovery, requirements, prioritization, and shipping with engineering and design.
• Mentor and grow a small team of Product Managers, setting expectations and recruiting talent.
• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, translating goals into a sequenced plan delivering value to institutions and students.
• Define success metrics across the portfolio and collaborate with compliance, security, and risk teams to meet standards.
