Job summary
Arizona Public Service (APS) seeks a Senior Transmission Strategy and Development Engineer to analyze the transmission network and develop long‑term projects that enable new resource delivery and capacity growth. You will lead multiple projects, coordinate with third‑party consultants, and guide development teams from initiation to handoff.
The role emphasizes advanced studies (PSLF, TARA, PowerWorld, PSSE) and collaboration with regulators, utilities, and developers to shape future system
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
- 8+ years of engineering‑related experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop long‑term transmission projects and promote new investment in transmission infrastructure enabling new capacity.
- Act as technical contact for 3rd party consultants; coordinate study scope and base cases.
- Advise on interconnection of new resources; assess reliability and deliverability impacts.
- Perform technical studies using PSLF, TARA, PowerWorld and PSSE to plan transmission expansion.
- Interface with outside utilities and developers to identify joint opportunities.
- Represent APS on regional committees.
