Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a Transmission Operations Engineer I/II to support reliable power delivery across APS’s transmission system. You will analyze system conditions, perform power flow studies and real-time reporting to assist operators in the Energy Control Center.

The role requires a BS in engineering and practical experience in transmission or power system operations. Preference given to candidates familiar with PSLF, PowerWorld/PSSE, EMS, RTCA, and NERC standards, with

Qualifications

A four year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution plus two years of engineering-related experience.
Approved Engineer degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural.

Responsibilities

Analyze transmission system conditions using power flow, contingency, and operational studies for real‑time and future grid reliability.
Develop and deliver real‑time operational reports and data insights for Energy Control Center operators.
Identify trends, constraints, and risks impacting transmission operations and market outcomes.
Support the implementation of flowgate methodology for transmission services.
Collaborate with engineers and operators to troubleshoot issues and improve performance.
