Job summary
SB Energy is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead advanced modeling and validation for hyperscale data centers. You will develop EMT/EMT studies, validate generator and microgrid models, and coordinate interconnection analyses with utilities and ISOs.
Strong scripting and power-system knowledge are required. The role supports the Grid Integration Team and requires experience with PSCAD/EMTDC, PowerWorld, PSS/E, and related tools to ensure reliability and compliance across multiple
Qualifications
- 7+ years in power systems engineering with EMT/EMTP experience.
- Proven experience with PSCAD/EMTDC models and studies.
- Strong background in grid interconnection requirements and utility studies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain in-house power system models for hyperscale data centers.
- Lead EMT modeling and transient studies with PSCAD/EMT tools.
- Perform grid studies with PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSS E, PowerFactory, ETAP.
- Validate OEM models and develop simplified screening models where needed.
- Support utility interconnection studies and liaise with utilities/ISOs.
