Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to perform EMT studies and develop PSCAD models for utility interconnections in the US. You will work with OEMs to tune models that meet grid codes and prepare technical reports for executive audiences.

The role requires 10+ years in power system modeling, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, and strong expertise in EMT, PSCAD, and grid reliability. Hybrid/onsite collaboration with a broad benefits package awaits.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and studies.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus.
  • 5+ years of recent experience developing PSCAD models for utility interconnections.
  • Experience with tools such as PSS/E, RSCAD, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EMT studies including SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, harmonic and flicker analysis.
  • Develop and tune PSCAD models with OEM collaboration to meet grid codes.
  • Prepare technical reports and executive presentations.
  • Serve as SME for PSCAD modeling and special studies.
  • Support transmission grid reliability, modeling and compliance.
  • Attend industry meetings to influence changes and stay current with NERC/FERC procedures.
  • Assist interconnection model development and review utility deliverables.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NERC standards for grid modeling.
  • Contribute to team R&D and innovation activities.
  • Support CHIL testing of BESS, fuel cells, and on-site generation technologies.

Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 10+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and studies.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus.
  • 5+ years of recent experience developing PSCAD models for utility interconnections.
  • Experience with additional tools such as PSS/E, RSCAD, DIgSILENT , PowerFactory or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, utility, and industry standards.
  • Strong experience developing and validating generator , load , equipment, and inverter-based resource models.
  • Experience in performing controller hardware in loop testing ( CHIL) with BESS, Fuel cells, and protective relays

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $114,600 - $234,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
