Job summary

Arizona Public Service seeks an experienced Telecommunications Specialist to install, test, and turn up a wide range of field and substation equipment. You will troubleshoot metering and control systems, coordinate 3rd‑party vendor support, and oversee design repairs in the field.

The role requires travel statewide, outdoor work, and familiarity with protection, metering, and control concepts. You may advance from Specialist II to Senior with demonstrated expertise.

Qualifications

High school diploma plus 2+ years related experience for Specialist II; more for II/III/Senior levels.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing metering and control systems.
Willingness to travel statewide, work outdoors, and overtime.
Solid understanding of protection, metering, and control concepts.

Responsibilities

Install, assemble, design repairs, test, and turn up telecommunications equipment and related systems.
Troubleshoot and design repairs on CMP devices, SCADA, fiber, and IP networks.
Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to localize problems.
Manage remote/centralized systems through appropriate software.
Lead construction projects and ensure milestones are met.
