Job summary

SALVATION ARMY A GEORGIA CORP in Houston seeks a Financial Operations Manager responsible for administrative and managerial support to the Area Commander and Commanding Officer, directing the financial operations, researching data, and preparing budgets and grant proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, Business Analytics or related field.
• Five years progressively responsible financial administration experience, with at least three years supervisory experience.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, recruit, and supervise staff and volunteers; train and instruct employees; conduct performance evaluations and salary/hiring decisions.
• Supervise the preparation of financial reports to Advisory Boards, Executive Committee, United Way and Commanding Officer including monthly and year-to-date reports.
• Develop annual budgets for approval and oversee administration; report projections and adjust budgets when necessary.
• Research, compile data and compose narratives for major budgets and grant proposals; oversee grant funding administration including United Way, EFSP, ESGP, and private foundations.
• Research and secure outside contractors for routine and special services; negotiate contracts and annual re-bids; oversee contracts.
• Serve as liaison to outside organizations, vendors, donors, and the Advisory Board; promote Salvation Army programs.
