Job summary

The California Institute for Behavioral Health Solutions (CIBHS) is seeking a highly organized Senior Associate, Grants Management to support the administration and implementation of complex grant-funded behavioral health initiatives across California.

This role focuses on grant administration, project coordination, timelines, budgets, reporting, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration with program, finance, operations, and leadership teams to move funded projects forward on schedule.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in a behavioral health-related field, such as education, psychology, social work, public health; or six to ten (6-10) years of equivalent experience, education, and/or training in behavioral health system management, operations, consulting, or grant administration with demonstrated progression in responsibilities is required.
• At least four (4) years of project management and/or grants management experience, including experience managing timelines, deliverables, budgets, reporting requirements, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience working on government-funded, nonprofit, or other highly structured programs and initiatives.
• Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with organization and follow-through.
• Familiarity with behavioral health, public-sector systems, or community-based funding environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support grant administration and implementation for assigned projects by providing leadership and subject matter expertise in designated areas of responsibility.
• Develop and manage workflows, templates, trackers, and documentation systems that support effective grant operations
• Coordinate solicitation, application review, award, contracting, and implementation processes
• Coordinate grant reporting, documentation, and compliance-related tracking
• Partner with program, finance, and leadership staff to keep deliverables, timelines, and grant requirements aligned
• Identify risks, solve operational problems, and strengthen grants management processes over time
• Support development of proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and other pre-award materials, as needed
• Serve as a key internal partner in maintaining organized, accurate, and responsive grant administration systems
