Job summary

The University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, seeks a Senior Grants Management Specialist to manage post-award accounting, compliance and financial services for grants from Federal, State and Private sources. Responsibilities include interpreting grant awards, budgeting, invoicing, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with funding agencies and university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years post-award grant accounting experience.
• Experience processing complex financial transactions and preparing monthly/annual reporting.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting grants.
• Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Review grant contracts to understand scope, funding requirements, and budgets.
• Prepare grant set up documents and budgets in Banner, and record receivables and deferred revenue.
• Approve post-award expenditures and prepare invoices/billings.
• Prepare federal and state financial reporting submitted to funding agencies.
• Provide guidance to PIs and grant staff to ensure compliance with funding agencies and university policies.
• Assist with audits and reporting needs of the Post Award area.
