Job summary

University of New England seeks an Assistant Director of Graduate & Professional Financial Aid to lead awarding and processing for the College of Osteopathic Medicine students. You will determine eligibility, verify data, and disburse aid while guiding students and collaborating with campus partners.

You will monitor changes in enrollment or progress, stay current on SAP, verification, and Return of Title IV Funds rules, and help develop budgets and policies to improve service and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in student financial aid administration or equivalent.
  • Experience in detail-oriented roles involving customer service, advising, financial information, compliance, or data review.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make well-documented decisions.
  • Ability to learn complex financial aid regulations and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel between UNE campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial aid awarding and processing for College of Osteopathic Medicine students, including reviewing applications, determining eligibility, verifying information, calculating need, and authorizing disbursements.
  • Monitor student eligibility and adjust financial aid when enrollment or progress changes.
  • Learn and apply federal, state, and institutional financial aid requirements, including SAP, verification, and Return of Title IV Funds.
  • Counsel students and explain financial aid requirements, options, and decisions clearly.
  • Present financial aid information during orientations, counseling, recruitment programs, and other events.
  • Prepare and review reports to support compliance, operational planning, student service, and wellness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other offices to support students and improve services.
