Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Grant Advisor to advance a complex portfolio of sponsored projects within Sponsored Programs Administration. This advanced role combines senior grant administration with mentoring, coordination, and delegated authority responsibilities, reporting to the Grant Manager without direct supervisory duties.

The position covers pre- and post-award activities, including proposal submission, budget management, compliance, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of research administration experience required.
• Experience with grants management, budget preparation and financial management principles and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of policy and practice governing research compliance within a large institution.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support grant proposal submission process, including budget development for new, resubmissions, and non-competing submissions.
• Interpret funding announcements and summarize requirements for investigators.
• Advise investigators on grant policies, due dates for progress reports, and compliance requirements.
• Provide mentorship on complex compliance and sponsor systems; not responsible for staff performance management.
• Prepare and finalize proposals and award documents for supervisor review and submission.
• Monitor purchases, actual and encumbered expenses, and salary distributions.
• Reconcile information/reports and provide regular financial status reports to investigators.
