Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal to join a fast-moving in-house government legal team. You will support litigation portfolios, including eDiscovery, workflow management, and attorney support.

The role requires paralegal certification or JD, with at least two years of litigation paralegal experience and strong research skills in Westlaw and Lexis. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Prepares a variety of legal documents and subpoenas.
• Reviews incoming documents and case status.
• Prepares indictments, warrants, subpoenas, and legal memoranda.
• Obtains information from case files to include in documents.
• Ensures documents conform to local court rules and style.
• Assists attorneys in trial preparation and exhibits.
• Coordinates with victim/witness specialists on guidelines.
• Notifies case agents and staff of issues.
• Uses Westlaw/Lexis for legal research and citations.
• Verifies citations for accuracy and consistency.
• Proofreads, edits, and revises briefs.
• Files documents electronically via CM/ECF.
• Organizes tables of contents and indices for briefs.
• Lists cited cases and references in briefs.
• Composes original correspondence requiring legal terminology.
• Transmits proposed orders to the court.
• Requests extensions of time in cases.
• Advises attorneys on case developments.
• Notifies defense counsel of issues.
• Manages discovery databases and related materials.
• Uploads/downloads discovery documents and materials.
• Manages discovery processing and production.
• Bates-stamps and redacts discovery materials with Adobe Acrobat.
• Sends continuing discovery to defense counsel.
• Maintains electronic case files and calendars in the CMS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex legal documents and subpoenas.
• Review documents and status of cases involved.
• Compile trial notebooks and organize exhibits.
• Perform eDiscovery duties and manage databases.
• Verify citations using Westlaw/Lexis.
• File documents electronically via CM/ECF.
• Ensure compliance with local court rules.
• Coordinate with victim/witness specialist.
• Communicate with attorneys and case agents.
• Maintain electronic case files and calendars.
