Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to support an in-house government legal team. The role focuses on eDiscovery activities, workflow management, and attorney support in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have formal paralegal credentials or a JD, multiple years of litigation support experience, and strong familiarity with Westlaw/Lexis and CM/ECF filings.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful.
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
• Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Hands‑on familiarity with computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
• Explains ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures and resources.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of technical legal documents in complex formats.
• Reviews incoming documents, assesses case status, and prepares court filings.
• Composes indictments, warrants, subpoenas, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Verifies citations and statutory references using Westlaw/Lexis; conducts legal research.
• Files legal documents electronically with the U.S. District Court using CM/ECF.
• Maintains case files, calendars deadlines, and conflict-of-interest forms.
• Manages discovery processing and production; Bates-stamping and redaction.
• Coordinates with victim/witness staff and liaises with defense counsel as directed.
