Job summary

Google seeks a Central Advisory and Governance Counsel to provide legal and compliance guidance across Alphabet's compliance program. The role reports to the Director of Central Advisory and Governance and focuses on reporting, risk management, and high-regulatory-risk compliance.

US-based compensation includes a base range with performance bonus and equity. The position requires substantial experience in government, in-house, or law firm settings and strong regulatory acumen within tech.

Qualifications

• JD, LL.B., or equivalent degree.
• 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or a law firm.
• Experience advising on compliance, regulatory affairs, or corporate governance within a tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise on compliance programs, standards, and governance elements based on regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement frameworks and taxonomies to standardize cross-company compliance efforts.
• Support internal management and external oversight governance bodies, including board materials and exec reporting.
• Serve as Regulatory Affairs partner for Internal Audit, Compliance Monitoring, and non-regulatory audits.
• Provide legal advice on requirements from settlements, consent decrees, litigation, and enforcement orders.
