Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Central Advisory and Governance Counsel to guide the company’s compliance program and governance activities across Alphabet and its operating segments. You will advise on program scope, risk, and regulatory expectations, working with cross-functional teams to align policies with evolving legal requirements.

You will partner with audit, legal, and executive leadership to develop reporting frameworks, manage oversight materials, and address sensitive regulatory matters,

Qualifications

• 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• 7 years of experience providing legal advice pertaining to compliance, regulatory affairs, or corporate governance within a tech environment.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or authorized to practice law in the state of the position.

Responsibilities

• Advise on compliance programs, standards, and foundational program elements based on regulatory requirements and guidance.
• Develop and implement frameworks, prioritization models, and compliance taxonomies to standardize cross-company compliance efforts.
• Support internal management and external oversight governance bodies, including advising on board materials and reporting frameworks, and identifying trends for oversight.
• Serve as a Regulatory Affairs partner and advisor on Internal Audit processes, Compliance Monitoring and Assurance, and non-regulatory audit programs.
• Provide legal and compliance advice on requirements from regulatory settlements, consent decrees, litigation, shareholder demands, and enforcement orders.]
