Google seeks a Central Advisory and Governance Counsel to support the Alphabet-wide Compliance Program. You will report to the Director of Central Advisory and Governance, guiding reporting, risk management and regulatory compliance across high-risk areas. Individual pay is determined by experience and training.

Qualifications

• J.D., LL.B., equivalent degree or practical experience.
• 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• 7 years of experience providing legal advice pertaining to compliance, regulatory affairs, or corporate governance within a tech environment.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or authorized to practice law in the state of position.

Responsibilities

• Advise on compliance programs, standards and elements based on regulatory requirements.
• Develop frameworks, prioritization models and compliance taxonomies for cross-company efforts.
• Support internal management and external oversight governance bodies with reporting and trends.
• Serve as Regulatory Affairs partner for Internal Audit, Compliance Monitoring and assurance.
• Provide legal advice on settlements, consent decrees, litigation, and enforcement orders.
