Salesforce is seeking a Distributed Systems Software Engineer for GovCloud (Senior/Lead) to design and operate large-scale systems. You will work on AI-enabled back-end services across cloud platforms, while maintaining reliability and security and driving innovative use of AI in development workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
• Familiar with Agile and Test Driven Development.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting infra.
• Experience with distributed databases including PostgreSQL.
• AI-first engineering mindset; use AI to move faster.
• Experience using AI tools in development workflows (Claude, Copilot, Codex, Cursor).
• Advanced prompt engineering for reliable AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools and validation platforms on public clouds.
• Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Build production-grade software with AI as core and push AI dev tools.
• Write microservices on Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Architect AI-integrated systems driving efficiency at scale.
• Contribute to shared system context of designs and standards.
• Critically evaluate code for correctness, quality, security and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotation to keep services highly available.
