Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own Go-based backend services supporting wallet operations and cross-chain workflows. You will design scalable distributed systems for transaction lifecycle, reconciliation across protocols, and ensure reliability and observability across the platform.

Collaborate with Trading, Custody, Staking, and other teams to deliver modular services. You will guide architecture, review code, and promote responsible AI usage while delivering business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Go
• Experience building and operating production backend services
• Familiarity with blockchain tech and cross-chain integrations
• Experience decomposing monoliths into scalable microservices
• Ability to collaborate across teams and drive projects autonomously
• Use of generative AI responsibly with human oversight

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of backend Go services powering wallet operations and cross-chain flows
• Build and improve distributed systems for transaction lifecycle and on-chain reconciliation
• Drive reliability and observability for wallet services and incident response
• Partner with Trading, Custody, Staking, and other teams to integrate services
• Decompose legacy systems into modular, reusable platform services
• Mentor peers through code reviews and architectural guidance
