Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Graduate Medical Education Program Coordinator III in Otolaryngology to provide strategic direction and oversee complex residency/fellowship programs. You will mentor junior coordinators, collaborate with the Program Director, and drive innovative initiatives to enhance the GME program's success.

Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 4 years as primary GME coordinator of an ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship program.
  • Preferred: Master's degree.
  • Licenses: TAGME certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Leads strategic planning and development of the GME program with the Program Director.
  • Oversees resident recruitment, selection, onboarding, and the educational experience.
  • Develops and implements innovative educational strategies for program quality.
  • Manages program evaluation including resident and faculty feedback and data analysis.
  • Coordinates accreditation activities, site visits, self-studies, and reviews.
  • Advises the Program Director on GME policies and strategic initiatives.
  • Mentors junior coordinators and may supervise administrative staff.
  • Represents the program at national and international meetings and professional bodies.
  • Builds relationships with faculty, residents, staff, administrators and accrediting bodies.
  • Oversees budget management, forecasting, expenditures, and reconciliation of trainee effort.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and state/federal laws.
  • Stays updated on medical education advancements and accreditation standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
