Job summary

Nextpower LLC is seeking a seasoned Payroll Manager to lead global payroll operations, ensure accuracy, and support US and international payroll processes. The role is hands-on and requires strong compliance with US payroll laws and tax filings.

You will audit, partner with vendors, and drive process improvements across payroll systems, including Workday, while mentoring payroll staff and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• 7+ years of professional payroll experience.
• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms; at least 2 years in Workday.
• Strong knowledge of US payroll labor laws and payroll tax requirements.
• Some experience working with payroll vendors for international payroll preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit payroll for accuracy and completeness, identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Manage internal and external audits relating to payroll.
• Manage quarterly and year end payroll tax filings for US and handle compliance requirements.
• Work with state agencies to resolve tax discrepancies.
• Independently identify and recommend new procedures to streamline payroll operations, controls automation and efficiency.
• Participate in payroll system testing, enhancements.
• Provide guidance and training to payroll administrator and support global payroll activities as required.
