General Dynamics IT in Washington, DC is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Technologies.

This role focuses on 24x7 global network operations, modernization, security integration, service management, and ongoing engagement across regions. Candidates must hold a TS/SCI clearance, a related Bachelor's degree, and 8+ years of experience with CCNP and DoD 8570 IAT II, plus hands-on expertise in network security, SDN/SD-WAN, cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of related technical experience.
• US Citizenship Required: Yes
• Aligned CCNP certifications
• Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
• Experience with load balancing, routing, switching, firewalls, and micro-segmentation
• Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and NIST frameworks
• Experience with SDN/SD-WAN and cloud networking
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and IaC/Python/Git

Responsibilities

• Support Network Architect and program leadership to define outputs, outcomes, and adoption framework for project creation and implementation
• Provide steady state support for current environment network operations, preparing for a modernization journey
• Support the Network Architect in defining the enterprise architecture, strategy, and roadmap for network capabilities
• Leverage secure, scalable, and automated and AI-augmented solutions for provisioning, monitoring, and operational support
• Support governance frameworks, lifecycle controls, and operational standards for hardware, process, and procedure
• Develop architecture artifacts, implementation guidance, metrics, and telemetry driven reporting
