Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel seeks an experienced events planning lead to translate briefs into actionable plans, manage multi‑million budgets, and oversee onsite execution for major programs. You will coordinate with producers, manage hotels, venues, F&B, and transportation, and mentor junior planners.

You’ll work with Cvent and enterprise tools, directing teams of ten or more, while ensuring on‑time delivery and accurate reconciliations. A CMP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years planning corporate meetings, events, and incentives.
• Budgets above $1 million with accurate forecasts and reconciliations.
• Portfolio includes multiday executive programs with 500+ attendees.
• Experience as planning lead beside a producer or senior client event owner.
• Strong hotel and supplier contract skills and negotiation experience.
• Proficient with Cvent and enterprise project tools.
• Ability to manage multiple programs at different stages simultaneously.
• CMP preferred; incentive travel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning beside the producer to turn briefs into deliverable plans.
• Build and manage program budgets from initial estimates to reconciliation.
• Create and maintain detailed planning calendars and timelines.
• Oversee supplier management from contracting to final invoicing.
• Coordinate attendee registration and housing in the client’s Cvent instance.
• Run onsite logistics, staffing, and VIP movements.
• Mentor Event Managers and review plans and budgets.
• Maintain complete planning files for seamless handoffs.
• Raise scope, budget, and resourcing risks early with recommendations.
