Job summary

FedEx seeks a policy and compliance professional to analyze, plan, develop, implement, and coordinate procedures for worldwide import and export operations. You will ensure coordination across departments to meet corporate goals for international freight service.

The incumbent will liaise with international agencies and brokers, assess customs compliance, and guide tariff classifications and regulatory solutions for internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of federal agency laws and regulations.
• Ability to interpret harmonized tariff schedules and related documents.
• Experience coordinating multiple departments to meet international freight service goals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and coordinate policies for worldwide import/export operations.
• Interface with international agencies and brokers for shipments and procedures.
• Assess compliance with customs laws and regulations for imported merchandise at gateways.
• Determine tariff classifications and related decisions.
• Provide regulatory solutions and support to internal and external customers.
• Coordinate with hub import/export sections and FedEx contract brokers on shipments with documentation issues.
• Direct and monitor activities of brokerage areas including customs service and post-entry.
• Review changes to international regulations and advise on FedEx policies to ensure compliance.
• Implement customs clearance documentation into the service system and develop related policies.
• Research international regulations to develop position papers for FedEx requirements.
