Job summary

1st Avenue Power is seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer to lead global product compliance for renewable energy products, including PV systems, BESS, and power electronics. You will own the compliance strategy from concept through certification and work with design teams to achieve compliance.

The role collaborates with UL, CSA, TÜV and other bodies, develops regulatory roadmaps, and supports grid interconnection standards, safety reviews, and documentation throughout development.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of product compliance or certification engineering experience.
• Experience working directly with UL, CSA, TÜV or equivalent certification bodies.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy products and power electronics.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own global compliance strategy throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead safety evaluations across electrical systems and components.
• Manage certification activities with UL, CSA, TÜV and other bodies.
• Develop EMC qualification plans and environmental qualification strategies.
• Support grid interconnection standards and inverter control function reviews.
• Provide guidance on evolving standards and maintain compliance matrices.
