Job summary

Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to lead generator compliance testing for renewable and conventional plants across North America. The role combines remote testing supervision with on-site guidance to ensure testing procedures meet regulatory standards.

You will work with operators, SCADA teams, OEMs, and vendors to analyze results, prepare technical reports, and improve testing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems.
• Experience supporting power plant testing, commissioning, or generator compliance activities.
• Familiarity with ERCOT and/or NERC compliance testing requirements.
• Experience with MOD-025, MOD-026, and MOD-027 testing standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support generator compliance testing and commissioning activities for renewable and conventional power plants.
• Conduct and oversee remote testing sessions, directing on-site technicians and plant operators during testing procedures.
• Provide real-time guidance to on-site teams executing testing protocols at generation facilities.
• Monitor and analyze live test data to verify plant performance and identify potential issues.
• Support compliance testing for NERC standards including MOD-025, MOD-026, and MOD-027.
• Work with plant operators, SCADA teams, OEMs, and other stakeholders to ensure proper test execution.
• Interpret test results and prepare technical reports documenting compliance and plant performance.
• Assist in the development and improvement of testing procedures and workflows.
• Support engineering analysis related to power plant controllers, inverter-based resources, and generator performance.
