J.S. Held is seeking a senior compensation leader in New York to align internal and external data, design and monitor base pay and incentives, and ensure equitable, competitive compensation across a global professional services firm.

The role requires 8+ years of compensation experience, strong stakeholder collaboration, and expertise in HRIS reporting. The position offers flexible work arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in business, mathematics, finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience with compensation methodology and analysis.
• Experience in a large, global professional services firm desired.
• Experience with creating reports and extracting/analyzing data from an HRIS system.
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, but also cooperatively in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of urgency and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assess compensation data against internal and external benchmarks to ensure equity and competitiveness.
• Design, implement, and monitor base pay, incentive pay, and total rewards programs.
• Conduct job analyses and evaluate new/evolving positions to set salary bands and ranges.
• Review job descriptions and place roles correctly within the hierarchy.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop compensation plans to attract, reward, and retain talent.
• Collaborate with Payroll and Finance to ensure efficient program administration.
• Generate analytical compensation reports to support budgets and strategic decisions.
• Provide reports and clarification of policies to HR and business leaders.
• Administer annual compensation activities such as merit increases and bonus plans.
• Provide market research as needed.
• Monitor compensation trends and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Collaborate on special projects and ad hoc requests.
