Job summary

UNIPEC America, Inc. seeks a Loss Control Specialist to support global crude oil and petroleum product movements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, Maritime, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in marine custody transfer measurements, loss control, and/or marine/terminal inspection industry.
• Experience in lab testing, petroleum inspection, loss control, or marine expeditor preferred.
• Refinery planning and/or operations experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented and disciplined.
• Ability to work independently, remotely, and with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic and assertive, high level of self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate third-party inspectors and Loss Control Service Providers.
• Review inspectors' field documents and confirm figures before final reports.
• Ensure compliance with industry measurement standards, commodity contracts, and company policies.
• Perform quality and quantity reconciliation of movements for CO and Petroleum Products; generate relevant reports.
• Investigate and identify loss control issues.
• Collaborate with Team Lead, Operations, Legal, Demurrage, and external parties to resolve discrepancies.
• Draft, update, and implement Unipec UUS procedures on quality and quantity control for cargoes.
• Manage, analyze, calculate, and draft cargo claims for physical transfers with suppliers/receivers/owners.
• Provide data and technical analysis to support trading operations and commercial agreements.
• Administer Loss Control Database and filing systems with accurate voyage and claims data.
• Prepare Claims and Loss Control Reports.
• Contribute to API Committee involvement to maintain industry standards benefiting Unipec.
• Update internal systems and maintain documentation and work status.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
