Job summary

Valero Port Arthur Refinery is hiring a Sr. Loss Control Specialist to safeguard product quantities and optimize custody transfers for crude and refined products. You will lead measures to prevent losses, ensure compliance with API/ASTM standards, and collaborate with vessel and rail teams.

The role requires 5+ years in custody transfer, loss control or marine inspection, and on-site availability. TWIC eligibility is required; on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of custody transfer measurements, loss control, or marine/terminal inspection experience.
• Willing to work 24/7 including holidays as needed.
• Willing to work onsite full-time at Valero Port Arthur Refinery.
• Eligible to obtain TWIC card and wear it at the refinery.

Responsibilities

• Identify issues exposing Valero to costs and take corrective actions.
• Minimize losses from measurement errors through custody movements.
• Communicate with vessel officers and shore reps to determine oversight.
• Verify volumes with independent inspectors and record results.
• Witness meter proving and calibrations and apply factors correctly.
