Job summary

Merchants Insurance Group, a leading Property and Casualty insurer in the Northeast, seeks a Loss Control Specialist for our Corporate Loss Control team. The role conducts multiline loss control surveys, prepares reports for Underwriting, and supports training programs.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree, 3 years loss control experience, and certifications such as CSP/ARM/CRM/CPCU. Travel up to 80% and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent work-related experience.
• CSP/ARM/CRM/CPCU certifications are a plus.
• 3 years loss control experience.
• Ability to travel 80% of the work week.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong safety and loss control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct multiline loss control surveys of prospects and clients to evaluate operation, exposure and controls for underwriting decisions.
• Prepare reports for Underwriting and recommendations for customers.
• Assist in development and presentation of programs and training for clients and other departments.
• Respond to special requests from Underwriting and clients with approval.
• Support commercial lines loss ratio objectives for assigned territories.
• Assist in achieving commercial lines production goals for assigned areas.
