Job summary

Gensler in Oakland, CA is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to support the accounting team by delivering accurate, timely vendor and employee payments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in accounts payable, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with Coupa and multi-currency processes.

You will manage full-cycle AP, reports for regional teams, and support audits while collaborating with cross-functional partners across the firm.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related accounts payable experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred; or substantial AP experience.
• Experience in a high-volume AP environment with end-to-end ownership.
• Proficiency with Coupa and Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices in Coupa.
• Record payroll, tax, and automated bank transactions.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and support audits.
• Communicate with executive leadership on sensitive transactions.
• Manage return payments and ensure timely voids/resolutions.
• Audit employee expense reports and PCard transactions.
• Perform monthly AP reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support regional AP teams with reports and monthly calls.
• Manage full-cycle AP including month-end/year-end close.
• Prepare and file Form 1099s.
• Document AP policies and controls.
• Identify process improvements and escalations.
