Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a seasoned Senior General Liability Claims Analyst to join our in-house Legal department. The role manages and adjusts a wide range of general liability claims, including customer injuries, property damage, and product liability matters, in a self-insured setting.

You will handle investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and administration, while supporting attorney-represented pre-litigation claims and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure top-tier

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience as a general liability claims analyst/examiner.
• 5+ years in customer service.
• Knowledge of tort, contract/indemnity and insurance issues; medical/legal terminology.
• Experience with self-insured, self-administered employer preferred.
• Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within Nordstrom’s high ethical standards and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of claim handling including customer service, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and administration.
• Provide support for attorney-represented pre-litigation claims.
• Assist with other claims-related support, investigations, regulatory matters, subpoenas, discovery, and invoicing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Maintain high service levels in a self-insured environment.
