Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking a Senior General Liability Claims Analyst to join its in-house Legal department.

The role independently manages and adjusts a wide range of general liability claims, including customer injury, property damage, and product liability, with a focus on customer service and collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring deep claims handling expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders in a self-insured

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a general liability claims analyst/examiner.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in customer service.
• Knowledge of tort, contract/indemnity and insurance issues, plus medical and legal terminology.
• Prior experience with self-insured, self-administered employer preferred.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office/Outlook and other claims or legal document systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of claim handling including customer service, investigation, evaluation, negotiation and administration.
• Support attorney-represented pre-litigation claims as needed.
• Assist with related tasks: investigations, regulatory matters, subpoenas, discovery, and invoicing.
