Job summary

EY seeks a General Ledger / Accounts Payable Senior Associate to support day-to-day ledger and payables activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and period-end close. The role emphasizes compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS while leveraging Costpoint enhancements for efficiency.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance (or equivalent experience), 4–6 years in government contracting, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 4–6 years of related accounting experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Deltek Costpoint experience required.
• Experience with government contracting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and looksups.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger account structures and configurations.
• Ensure transactions comply with GAAP, FAR, CAS, EY policies.
• Review journal entries for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliation schedules.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Execute month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Support internal and external audits and audits requests.
• Collaborate with finance teams to resolve accounting matters.
• Develop reconciliation templates and desktop procedures.
• Assist with Costpoint configuration and testing.
• Monitor accounts payable workflow and vendor accruals.
