Job summary

VHB is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst/Project Manager to join our GIS team in New England with a hybrid schedule from MA offices, Providence, RI, or Wethersfield, CT. The role blends leadership, mentorship, and hands‑on GIS work across transportation, municipal, energy, and federal clients using the Esri software suite.

The successful candidate will manage projects, develop budgets, help win new GIS work, and guide junior staff while delivering high‑quality spatial solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional GIS experience with at least 4 years in project management.
• BS in GIS, Engineering, Planning, or Geography; master's preferred.
• GISP certification preferred.
• Extensive experience with Esri ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro/Online/Enterprise).

Responsibilities

• Manage and support GIS projects to deliver on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities and assisting with proposals.
• Collaborate with engineers, GIS staff, and stakeholders on spatial data processes and applications.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior staff and project teams.
• Configure web applications using Esri ArcGIS Online/Portal to support project work.
• Estimate time, write scopes of work, and develop budgets for proposals and RFPs.
• Perform quality control on deliverables produced by others.
