Job summary

VHB is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst/Project Manager to join our growing New England team. The role is hybrid, based in Massachusetts offices, Providence, RI, or Wethersfield, CT, with opportunities to influence a wide range of GIS projects.

You will lead projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with engineers and clients, leveraging the Esri suite to deliver web maps, dashboards, and data services while expanding our regional presence.

Qualifications

8+ years of GIS experience, including at least 4 years of project management.
BS in GIS, Engineering, Planning, or Geography.
Master’s degree preferred and may substitute for 1-2 years of experience.
GISP certification preferred.
Extensive experience working across Esri’s ArcGIS Platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).

Responsibilities

Manage GIS projects to ensure on-time delivery within budget and aligned with scope and client expectations.
Support business development by identifying opportunities and assisting with proposals.
Collaborate with software engineers, GIS professionals, project teams, and stakeholders on spatial data processes.
Provide technical direction, mentorship, and support to junior GIS staff and project team members.
Configure web applications using Esri’s ArcGIS Online/Portal to support project work.
Communicate effectively; work independently and as part of a large team.
Proactively propose ideas and solutions to project problems.
Write scopes of work and develop budget estimates for proposals and RFPs.
Perform quality control tests on work products.
