Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior IT/Technology Project Manager with GIS project experience to lead a large-scale modernization initiative. The project is in design phase with a third-party partner assessing GIS environment.

The successful candidate will own the initiative, drive from design to implementation, manage internal teams and external vendors, and communicate complex GIS concepts to executives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT/Technology Project Management; 10+ years preferred.
• Demonstrated GIS-related technology project experience.
• Experience delivering large-scale enterprise software projects.
• Experience from initiation to closeout including go-live.
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with Waterfall SDLC and stage-gate governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large-scale GIS technology initiative from design through go-live and closeout.
• Assess status, risks, constraints, dependencies, and set priorities.
• Develop a realistic implementation roadmap and integrated project plan.
• Create resource-loaded schedules in MS Project with baselines and milestones.
• Coordinate across GIS teams, IT, architects, stakeholders, vendors.
• Lead scope, schedule, risk, issue, and escalation management.
• Ensure accountability and measurable commitments across workstreams.
• Hold vendors and system integrators to agreed deliverables and timelines.
• Guide governance within Waterfall SDLC and stage-gate framework.
• Translate GIS and technical information for executive decisions.
• Provide consistent project reporting to leadership.
• Support business case development including scope, timelines, and costs.
• Plan system migration, testing, cutover, training, and operations transition.
• Drive stakeholder alignment across business and technology groups.
