Job summary

The City of Glendale AZ is seeking a Sr. GIS Analyst to lead the design, development, and maintenance of GIS web applications and databases. This role collaborates with City Leadership and staff across departments to determine GIS needs and deliver effective GIS solutions.

Responsibilities include leading projects, training junior staff, and ensuring security and performance of GIS systems. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of ESRI experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or closely related field and five years of experience with ESRI software suite.
One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Responsibilities

Leads efforts to research, analyze and evaluate requests for new or improved GIS products including maps and web applications with emphasis on business need and benefit.
Derives accurate GIS map and application needs analysis through stakeholder interviews.
Designs, develops and implements web-based software GIS applications utilizing ArcGIS Portal/ArcGIS Online and city standards; covers full lifecycle from gathering requirements to publishing maps and configuring dashboards.
Implements and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard city infrastructure and data.
