Job summary

The City of Stockton is seeking a dynamic Senior GIS Analyst to lead high-impact geospatial projects across city departments. You’ll modernize how mapping, data, and technology serve the public, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver location-based insights.

This role requires extensive GIS experience with ESRI software, data integration, and the development of maps, dashboards, and web apps. You will mentor others and help implement best practices within a Civil Service environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geography, mathematics, computer science, or closely related field with four years of GIS programming experience comparable to GIS Analyst II.
• Associate degree or 60 semester units in related field with six years of GIS experience including four years at a level comparable to GIS Analyst II.
• High school diploma or GED with eight years of GIS experience including four years at a level comparable to GIS Analyst II.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS projects across City departments and manage data systems.
• Develop geospatial data integrations using ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro/Online/Enterprise).
• Build maps, dashboards, and web apps to support strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with City teams to apply location-based data to real-world challenges.
• Research and implement new GIS tools and best practices.
