Job summary

City of Goodyear is seeking a GIS Analyst to support city-wide GIS initiatives, including system integration, centralized GIS applications, and database development. The role also serves as a backup for GIS systems administration and planning.

The ideal candidate will grow within a dynamic government environment, collaborating with the GIS Division to advance geospatial capabilities, ensure data quality, and support cross-department projects. A professional, service-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and understand complex technical and legal descriptions.
• Ability to perform geometric or trigonometric calculations and basic arithmetic/statistical operations.
• Ability to write documentation for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Integrates GIS with existing or new City systems and processes; define needs and manage expectations; develop data collection/analysis methods to integrate systems.
• Designs and tests GIS procedures and programs; implement changes to fix deficiencies.
• Assist in GIS data management and QA/QC standards.
• Perform moderate to complex GIS analyses and geoprocessing tasks.
• Communicate effectively with internal users, vendors, and consultants on GIS solutions.
