Job summary

A & Associates is seeking a GIS Software Developer in Glendale, AZ to design, develop, maintain, and update GIS applications and GIS databases. You will work with city leadership and staff to determine requirements and deliver robust GIS solutions.

Responsibilities include analyzing requests, designing GIS functionality, coding, documenting, and providing training and support to city staff. Collaboration with vendors and cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Geography and experience with ESRI GIS technology.

Responsibilities

Researches, analyzes and evaluates requests for new or improved GIS application function with emphasis on business need and benefit.
Derives accurate GIS application needs through stakeholder interviews.
Designs, develops, implements and maintains GIS applications.
Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams and vendors for guidance on GIS functionality.
Ensures code changes are managed using a documented change request process.
Maintains current documentation reflecting GIS architecture and software revision levels.
Develops and monitors application security procedures to safeguard infrastructure.
Develops performance metrics to identify and correct deficiencies.
Creates training materials and provides user support for city staff.
Provides on-call support and solves user problems.
Maintains knowledge of systems and technologies.
