Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a Principal Accountant, Gift and Grant Accounting to ensure gifts and grants are recorded in compliance with GAAP, GASB, and university policy. This role serves as the primary liaison between IU Foundation and the Office of Research Administration.

You will oversee complex accounting assignments, prepare journal entries, support monthly and year-end closes, and work on process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Experience with GAAP/GASB and university financial processes preferred.
• CPA licensure or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies gift and grant transactions for GAAP/GASB compliance.
• Serves as liaison between IU Foundation and Office of Research Administration for gift/grant accounting.
• Prepares journal entries and supporting work papers for year-end audit.
• Develops accounting policies and controls to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with departments to improve processes and accuracy.
