Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking a skilled Research Administration professional to oversee sponsored projects through their lifecycle, including proposal development, award intake, financial monitoring, and closeout. You will interpret sponsor guidelines, advise faculty and staff, and ensure compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), 2 years of grant-proposal experience (or 3 years in grants/awards admin), and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; related field preferred.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 2 years of experience preparing and submitting grant proposals in a university/hospital setting.
• OR 3 years of experience with grants and awards administration or university policy.
• Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification is a plus.
• Proficient written and verbal communication; strong professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee sponsored projects lifecycle, including proposal development, award intake, and closeout.
• Advise faculty and staff on budgets, certifications, and sponsor guidelines; prepare administrative forms.
• Mentor staff and ensure compliance with university policies, federal regulations, and sponsor requirements.
• Monitor project accounts for allowability and allocability; use Kuali, NIH Commons, Grants.gov for submissions and monitoring.
• Develop reference materials and participate in process improvements.
